Anne-Kathrin Peitz studied English and Theatre in Berlin and Leeds. She first worked as a journalist and was product manager of WERGO, the label for new music at Schott Music publishers, and later head of Public Relations at the opera houses in Leipzig and Stuttgart. At the Stuttgart State Opera, she initiated the cinema documentary film ‘The Singing City’ about the everyday life of a German opera house, of which she also took on the production management. Meanwhile, Anne-Kathrin Peitz works as a producer and writer for works including the multiple award-winning documentary “John Cage – Journeys in Sound”. With her own developed documentary series “Sounds of the Sidewalk – On the Road with Buskers” (ZDF/Arte), she executed her debut as director in 2012. Her latest directorial work “Satiesfictions – Promenades with Erik Satie” (WDR/Arte) has been nominated for the prestigious “Grimme-Preis 2016″.
