Krzysztof Penderecki – 80th Birthday Gala Concert
A birthday gala for Poland’s best-known living composer: International stars celebrated the 80th anniversary of Krzysztof Penderecki in 2013 with a special gala with himself in attendance. Outstanding artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Valery Gergiev, Charles Dutoit and Polish musicians honored Penderecki with a concert presenting a unique selection of his works at the Teatre Wielki in Warsaw.
The brilliant Mutter, who regularly collaborates with the jubilee, congratulated with the “Duo Concertante” along with bassist Roman Patkolo, and Gergiev directed his moving “Credo” for choir and orchestra.
