Our new documentary about Charles Ives is currently in the making. Ives, perhaps the most famous “weekend composer” of musical history, is regarded today as the first composer of the modern age in America. The film explores the musical world according to Ives, with performances in churches, concert halls and out in the open. Right now the documentary’s director Anne-Kathrin Peitz and her team are in the USA; before that, they filmed at the circus and in a limestone cave in Germany. Here are some impressions:
