Classica Magazine honored two of Accentus Music’s recent releases with its prestigious Choc de Classica: Zhu Xiao-Mei’s recording of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations and the Memorial Concert for Claudio Abbado. Furthermore, the moving Memorial Concert is also granted a Diapason D’OR Arte in April.

One and a half hours go by as if by magic…“, such is the verdict of the editors of the French Magazine Classica. Awarding the Memorial Concert for Claudio Abbado, played by the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under the baton of Andris Nelsons, they pointed out “the powerful images of musicians playing in tears, without cameras being too intrusive in that moment that belonged only to them… Then comes the crushing silence under the gaze of an emotional conductor, who was able to take his share of grief in a collective mourning.”
