Brahms, Schönberg, Beethoven – Claudio Abbado, Mihoko Fujimura & Lucerne Festival Orchestra
In 2013, Lucerne was celebrating: the renowned Lucerne Festival turned 75 after it was launched in 1938 under the baton of Arturo Toscanini. In addition, the Lucerne Festival Orchestra celebrated its tenth anniversary with its founder Claudio Abbado – who turned 80 in 2013. Every year in Lucerne he gathers world-famous soloists who are willing to “do the craziest things I ask of them in the interest of the compositions: to fly or to go through the fire”.
